NHK began broadcasting internationally in 1995, and mainly targeted Japanese living overseas with Japanese programs. Programming also was overhauled in February last year.Such moves reflect NHK’s deep concern that information sent from Japan will be ignored in the international community, as Chinese CCTV and Qatari Al Jazeera started around-the-clock English broadcasting.
